Virgin Prunes ...If I Die, I Die

speaking more specifically about the album, it’s one of those records that is truly worth buying. No one like them has managed to blend gothic, Joy Division and Cure-inspired bass lines, synth-pop, Celtic folk, electronics, dance, and everything else... a seminal masterpiece.

"end of an ear" will be a matter of taste... however, it is frankly unbearable. I repeat, these are those records that are worth listening to only because they are historically important, but I would never recommend it to anyone looking for forty minutes of carefree enjoyment.

Just to add something else... I've completely reassessed "Hosianna Mantra" and it has become a fantastic album for me as well. But Wyatt really doesn't sit well with me (at least the one from the SM and "End of an Ear").

I’m joining in. I don’t believe I don’t understand a damn thing about music with 4000 listens over 12 years... I must have formed some kind of idea... I’m not saying things randomly... here we need to differentiate, dear Jon, between ā€œobjectiveā€ and ā€œsubjectiveā€: I don’t like ā€œthirdā€ at all as a taste... but I acknowledge that it’s a fundamental pillar. In short, we’re talking about Red Crayola here, and between the two records, my ears clearly prefer this one, that’s all. You’re talking to someone who finds catchiness even in Royal Trux, just imagine.

But what you have, dear Kaisar, is the original version plus the bonus tracks...the album was released on vinyl with the tracklist that I presented.

Congratulations on the gentlemanly nature of the person above... for me it’s a big load of crap. End of story. If you like it, as I deduce from your comment, there’s no need to invite me to your home. Just simply write "I like it." This is a site for free opinions on music, isn’t it?

great review, I’ve always seen these on the shelves of the store I visit weekly but I’ve never picked them up... maybe it’s time I do... about the international critique: does it really seem possible to you that "rolling stone" puts sgt pepper and pet sounds at the first and second place of the greatest albums of all time?? Come on, scandalous...

Well, now I've listened to it.. and I can say it’s a stratospheric masterpiece! Truly a cauldron filled with every conceivable genre! A beautiful experience, I'd say...

I don't know about you, but I hear this album in every note of Green Day... =S could it be that dear Billie Joe has, let's say, been inspired?
