Animal Collective Here Comes The Indian
Voto:
Animal Collective: seen in Rome at the Circolo degli Artisti. I tried to like them. I wonder why: no doctor prescribed them for me. They are those things you want to do to grow as a music listener. To cross that boundary. Well, nothing. Even having tackled the last two albums, which I understand from here are the most palatable, I couldn’t make it. And even live, while (reluctantly) recognizing a certain allure of a hallucinogenic trip, I couldn't help but conclude the experience with a rather perplexed gaze. In any case, a very nice review. Although, as far as I'm concerned, it scares me more than it intrigues me!
Canyon Empty Rooms

How strong the Canyons are! When I get home this weekend, I'll grab the CD and write a more detailed comment. For now, I only remember the excitement when I heard (and then heard again and again) this CD, my hand reaching for "Canyon", the other album (the debut?) from 2001. It struck me less than "Empty Rooms," or maybe it's the other way around. Who knows. Empty Rooms: what a beautiful title. And indeed, behind the simple yet sophisticated woman, there’s only black, the absence, the empty.
Dream Theater Live al Palalottomatica 31/10/2005

What is a joke? I can hardly believe it myself, but I managed to read it all. Just to see how far you could go. It's mind-boggling: commas placed randomly, tenses mixed up (remote past and present tangled together), double letters and accents regularly omitted. Not to mention many of the things you describe: at first, a very personal narrative of a concert might be enjoyable, but after the umpteenth detail mentioned (see: the misadventures of the poster), everything becomes quite tiresome. If this isn't a joke, well, eternaldreamer, work on it for next time. I mean, reread what you write. It was obviously impossible to do so in this case, given the outrageous length of it all, so next time, even if your passion leads you to rivers upon rivers upon rivers (upon rivers...) of words, try to be a bit more concise, for heaven's sake.
Marta sui tubi C'è gente che deve dormire
Voto:
A review of the origins of Marta sui tubi? A statement of appreciation for the duo (now trio)? You’ve got the wrong section, and in reality, you wanted to start a new forum titled "I liked this album"? Do you realize you only mention the CD in a line and a half? You don’t say anything about the songs, nothing. Nothing about the collaborations (Bobbi Solo singing in "via Dante" is absolutely legendary). Nothing about the lyrics. Nothing about the genre they perform (dismissed as "singer-songwriters"). But why? What sense does that make?
Turin Brakes Jack In A Box

I really liked the first album by Freni (very much, in fact). I probably had the misfortune (and I still have it) of not knowing eight thousand similar bands from that area (read: limited musical experience). However, my enthusiasm has cooled down for the second one. For this third album, I raised my eyebrows quite a bit, and I agree with you. It's cute, it flows by, but nothing stays. What I don't quite understand is why music magazines are so benevolent towards TB.
The New Pornographers Twin Cinema

One of the definitions of "joie de vivre": the ending of "The Bleeding Heart Show." It makes me want to run with open arms and a smile that reveals a thousand teeth. The first four songs are fan-tas-tic: probably (way too hard to choose) "The bones of an idol" is my favorite, with that rhythm that somewhat reminds me of the Fiery Furnaces. Anyway, it's true, an album that impacts, enchants, lasts while being pop. One of the many gems of the Canadian invasion. The review: I get it, there was a necessity to write it because it hadn’t been done yet (right) and clearly the album thrilled you very much, so maybe, I don’t know, at the height of happiness from listening, you couldn't organize a decent account but still felt the urgency to communicate your joy. The fact is that urgency = haste, haste = not good, consequence --> you say practically nothing.
Radiohead Kid A

So. This is the fifth review of Kid A. I took the texts of all the reviews written so far, copied them into Word XP with the following settings: Garamond font 12, 1.5 line spacing, top margin 2.5 cm, bottom margin 2 cm, right margin 3 cm, left margin 3 cm, left-aligned characters. It amounts to a total of 7 pages, with 2464 words, 12683 characters (spaces excluded), 15171 characters including spaces, and 218 lines. This review is the longest, with 5 pages, 1570 words, 7822 characters excluding spaces, 9408 characters including spaces, and 143 lines. If we were to rank the words used, the second is wheredowegofromhere with 256 words, then Mr_Iko with 252 words, fourth is serestoppone with 233 words, and fifth is mellon with 153 words. The difference between this review and the most concise one on Kid A is therefore 2311 words.
In other words, "chapeau."
The The Infected

Great review! Alright, I’ll sign up for the list of the ignorant: The The to me is just a name (or maybe it’s better to say two definite articles). In the '80s, I was simply living but not listening to music (except for a few trivial exceptions).

I don't know the SPs, even though right now I'm dealing with one in my damn job, but I don't think it's the same thing. Interesting review (yes, I read it, I swear, even though I don’t remember anything at the moment).
