I agree with Hal regarding the two sides of Guccini, and I too prefer the introspective side, where he truly excels. This album is really beautiful, it has gems, even from a musical standpoint, far from being a nonexistent musician... I won't write more, "because the subject of study would be infinite, and above all, because I know that I know nothing."

Luca Flores For Those I Never Knew

Well, we could sit here discussing this for days. Personally, I've always found the reverence for Rava unjustified in most cases, but that's just my opinion. He's a good musician, yes, but he's never impressed me.
Yes, Cafiso regularly plays with Rava. In his time, Urbani also played with Rava, but perhaps his figure became a bit too imposing, or the unruliness took over genius, or both, and the situation ended (I speak based on direct testimonies from those who were "there").
It's well-known that Italian jazz musicians of worth can’t wait to go abroad, preferably to France, where they undoubtedly feel more appreciated.
Here in Italy, when Americans arrive, people spend 30 euros to sit under the stage drooling, while those musicians are still full of fettuccine and Chianti, and are amiably goofing around (forgive me the theatricality of the exaggeration). Meanwhile, I assure you there are many talented Italian musicians who are practically unknown to everyone, and who would shine next to any sacred monster.
Italiucola indeed!
Bye.
Luca Flores For Those I Never Knew

Luca Flores was perhaps too great to be appreciated in a little Italy that could only recognize geniuses like him or Massimo Urbani posthumously, and in the meantime still wastes time applauding a musician barely above mediocre like Enrico Rava, and can't wait to flush down the incredibly precocious talent of Francesco Cafiso. Francesco, if you hear me, run away to France! With all due respect.

Thank you guys, you are an inexhaustible source of slang insults, that makes you want to go out just to argue with someone and then maybe in the end tell them "first make yourself a broth and then an enema."
I love this site.

Alright Joseph, the next CD you hate though, don’t throw it away, let me know because I might like it.
