I don't know her. I like the image you create of yourself listening to this CD in the car under the rain... Maybe light, maybe teetering between jazz and pop, but it kept you company for a week, didn't it? A description I would dare say is romantic...

Right, it's the Colt38 (maybe the number 69 is an obsession, and don't misunderstand me!!!!). Hold on to that CD, it’s a truly precious gem, it has never been sold. I found it from a friend, 35007Liquid, phenomenal! A pair of headphones, the darkness, and away we go... "Liquid' gives me that feeling WITHOUT the drugs...". That's right!

What a shame! I see that the version available in Italy (and in France) has a "politically correct" cover (is it a Noah's Ark?), I imagine because it's a Catholic country... The version sold here in Switzerland, on the other hand, has a "hardcore" cover, meaning a drawing of a naked woman crucified... if you go to the Distillers' website (www.thedistillers.com) you can see this image on the home page. This way, you'll understand why I say "... The cover artwork by Tim Presley is irreverent enough...". Inside the booklet I have, there is a riot of "lewd" images... I'm really curious about what images they put in the soft version. Ah, these majors, how cowardly!

A dancing disc of fancy & hype positivity. As you say, evergreen music, perfect for an evening with friends.

I prefer the covers of Type O Negative...

I don't like son music, it's true the cover is kitsch, it's true the photo doesn't do justice to Celia (she had the most bizarre wigs in the hemisphere, not to mention Platinette), but this woman in person was a superhuman force, she was pure fiesta, she was a fire... no one would dare say anything about Aretha Franklin, and she can look pretty rough with those big wigs too... well, Celia was the Aretha of son, she was the darling of all South America, and beyond. A Queen.

LOR15 is that you? I saw the Suicide review, in fact I had already put it among my "de-rec. that I recommend" a while ago! Alan Vega? I love the Suicide, always innovative! Today I could kick myself because years ago I gave the CD "Cubist Blues" (with Alex Chilton, Ben Vaughn, and a werewolf Alan Vega) to a boyfriend. Never saw either of them again, neither the boyfriend nor the CD. Do you believe me if I say I only regret the CD? The problem is that today it's impossible to find, damn it!

Great review, Marcmat... and excellent choice. A band, as you rightly say, that had us hoping for great things... We're waiting to see what the good old Ian has in store; his 4th solo album is supposed to come out in early 2004, and it seems there will be a plethora of collaborations. In the meantime, I've already picked up the new one from UNKLE (maybe I'll do a de-review on it). A very special album, full of "unique" guests. The track Reign is beautiful, featuring our Jan on vocals... if you like electronic music, I highly recommend it. Ciaux
