As a Ticinese, I understand the Como, Milanese, Bergamasque, Valtellinese, Piedmontese, and Venetian dialects—practically all the dialects of the North. Who says that dialects are separatist? But that's not all. I understand Roman, Neapolitan, and other Italian dialects. The only one I really struggle with is Sardinian, but that's not a dialect, it's a language. The real problem is that many people don't apply logic through assonance; for example, I don't understand how the average Italian cannot grasp the gist of Spanish or French, despite many similarities due to assonance. Anyway: this review was entertaining, good one!

But well done DannyRoseG, I love your reviews. Films just as you say, grotesque, but in a ridiculous way, because the grotesque, if one wishes, can be intelligent and compelling.

Great review of a film that truly deserves it. Well done for reminding us.

Between reviews and comments, I had a blast; a true theater of the absurd :)

I love stories and movies about somewhat dubious clergy, but at this point, I’m waiting for this to be uploaded on some platform *ahem*, because besides your well-described one, I read too many negative reviews around.

Tracey is one of the very few female voices I like, never cloying, no pointless embellishments... Beautiful photography of yours, JonatanCoe.
Gavino Ledda PADRE PADRONE. L'educazione di un pastore

They took us with the school to see the movie; those were times when school classes were brought to the cinema to then discuss the film in class. Being that Ticino was a predominantly rural region (before business and banks arrived), this film and L'albero degli zoccoli became subjects of reflection on our origins and on the family relationships of our grandparents, which didn't stray much from certain common dynamics. We read Padre padrone in class, practically a full immersion between book and film.
Clint Eastwood Giurato numero 2

Some say it's a lengthy review, but I read it in one breath! The only flaw is not mentioning the screenplay by Jonathan A. Abrams, a young author typically not accustomed to cinema but rather to theater and musicals. This adds further value to Eastwood, as if it were needed, thanks to his ability to uncover talents in the very new generations that deserve support and appreciation because soon he will no longer be around, but his mark will remain. I saw the film and I liked Holt a lot, another young talent launched by Eastwood. Just to say that the old grandfather gave that little push to his great-grandchildren, a significant push indeed.
