I always read the same boring criticisms........... I remember that aside from a few adults, all the actors were picked from the streets, and the protagonist was just starting out. A comparison can be made with Mery Per Sempre, practically a similar operation, but on the acting level definitely better. But why? Because Italians have a body language, a way with their hands, and a mastery of their voice that Germans do not have! So if there’s one flaw, and in my opinion it’s the only one, it was working with non-professional leads, some of whom were actual addicts. A venial sin because the idea was - perhaps pretentious, if you will - to create a sort of docu-film, what we now call a mockumentary, which has been trending lately. An operation that wasn’t understood at the time, in fact it stunned a lot of people. It wasn’t a film that aimed to be great cinema, that much is certain.

Enbar, Bowie is indeed involved; in the mid-seventies, musically speaking, Berlin was Bowie (and Eno and Fripp) and Bowie was Berlin, that's indisputable! That the director and Bowie were great friends is another story (Bowie co-produced the film, so his cameo makes sense). Edel (which means "noble" in German) is a great director whose "Ultima Fermata Brooklin" I HIGHLY recommend watching an overlooked film. Bye!

I understand the appreciation, but I wonder, is the first sentence ironic? The new single, Nova, with Four Tet really sucks, to be completely honest (by the way, the melodic line is a beautifully stolen sample from a piano riff in Nova by Steve Reid, but nobody mentions that). More clever than beautiful, Burial.
