I read this review with pleasure!... but I don’t think I’ll listen to them. They started off strong with their first album in '84 (really good debut) and then produced Love and Electric - a double whammy that was the highlight of "their" decade, until The Cult in '94, where even the cover looked like a tombstone planted on a story that was already done and dusted. From there, for me, they were fertig finish. Everything else is pure revival (and there's nothing sadder than the revival of oneself).

Ehhh, I grew up with this song, with its simple and direct concept that I heard on the radio - it was sung around the fire during camping trips - it was the theme song of a TV show here in Switzerland. Personally, I was more influenced by Gaber than by Guccini. I saw him live several times back in the day. Gaber in concert in Lugano was always an epic event that you couldn't miss, and I never missed one. In short, for me, he was like a father... but that phrase, you know. That phrase about Freedom today feels like a joke. Dad, you used to tell me lies... like any respectable dad would.

I don’t know about you, but among all these heavyweights—Viggo, Cronenberg, Kassel, and even Fassbender, who I remember is the star of Hunger and Shame (not exactly light stuff, mind you)—one could have made a different choice (and this isn’t Keira's responsibility) and could have directed her better (same). In all this, a cast of heavyweights that overshadows her, and the directorial context, I’d say she has done remarkably well in the end.
