Madonna True Blue
Voto:
De-scuses for the categorical statements (like the most beautiful and amazing album in the world). Madonna has taken the biggest cut of the head and, although experienced in a diachronic way, I also can't sleep at night. If you haven't listened to Madonna, you've just missed a mystical encounter, so don't worry. Happy Compression and joyful Sinto-Chorus to everyone. I'm going back into de-hibernation.

As a start, I recommend the overrated banana, aka "The Velvet Underground & Nico."
Rush Fly By Night
Voto:
Absolutely right, but I tried to evaluate the album in the historical context in which it was released, without considering the enormous discography that preceded Fly By Night. For me, this album is fresh, brilliant, and unique in the 70s heavy metal scene. Then the real story of Rush began, which was hinted at in By-Tor & The Snow Dog: the Rascprogressivsaund. Imho. Thank you for commenting on the review :)

Attention. Let's make the necessary distinctions. Bublè is a handsome young man with a passion for singing. He could easily have come out of our Saranno Famosi. He got lucky and received good promotion worldwide. Cincotti is slightly more niche, and he is a Musician. Imitators do not exist. There are performers. And Cincotti is a great promising performer who has already written some excellent original pieces. Bublè has no future; I would keep an eye on Cincotti instead... :) Imho. Regards.

Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

Anyway, it's easy.. some exalt them.. and just as many criticize them highly. I'm not one of those who says that Dream are unreachable or sacred monsters. I still consider them a great band (at least up to Scenes from a Memory, with the exception of the disastrous Falling into Infinity). This album contains great music and great lyrics. It's a film to be followed closely: The Spirit Carries On and Finally Free, knowing the plot and the lyrics, are together a unique and truly moving finale. I found myself getting emotional :°D Anyway, tastes are tastes. You still remain a good reviewer :) Ziauuuu
Dream Theater Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory

mmm... it's not exactly like that, but something like it: he is the reincarnation of a girl, Victoria, who lived and was murdered in the 1920s along with her boyfriend. She was indeed caught in a rivalry between two brothers: The Sleeper, a failure with millions of problems whom she loved, and The Miracle... the miraculous one; the brother who instead made a political career, in love with Victoria but unreciprocated. One day, angry and intolerant, The Miracle kills the two lovers and, thanks to his position, manages to make the crime look like a love suicide. (I'll keep it brief). But the weight of this injustice causes Victoria's soul to wander until she reincarnates in the present, in Nicholas. And it is Nicholas who tries, through hypnosis, to bring to light the truth of the nightmares and visions he constantly has. Is it Victoria seeking justice and revenge? The ending is still problematic interpretively, haha. I'll refrain from giving my opinion :) There’s only one certain fact: Nicholas gets killed.

x Easy: It always seems to me like the usual criticisms of Dream Theater (“too technical, they revisit things already done, they lack personality”). I find them useless and trivial (useless because I don't believe there are any contemporary bands that don't draw from things that have already been done) :P Anyway, I have a feeling that you don't know the story of the concept (I don't believe you took the time to translate the lyrics or look for debates on the internet regarding the story, which by the way connects to their most famous piece of all time). In short, I think these are fundamental details for a good review. This seems to me like mere disparagement and a big, easy, prejudicial critique. You tear apart an album without saving anything. Perhaps blinded by that irritation you mentioned at the beginning? :) Ciauu

Nice review. Like others, I much prefer the first one, but this is still a great album. Ah, but "the gift" isn't the story of a boy who sends himself to his girlfriend in a package and ends up getting killed by the big scissors she uses to try to open the package, right? More than sadomasochistic, I'd say it's cynical :) Ziauuu (by the way, it refers to the distance that separated him during the holidays from his girlfriend at Syracuse University, Shelley).

Damn... I've played this album to death. It's just too good :) The review is well written... but rather mediocre, in my opinion, in terms of content (you don't mention the concept idea... which drives the whole album). You always fall into “this sounds too much like that, this copies that” etc. In short... pointless, banal, and rather easy criticisms. Then this thing about "great musicians" smells pretty bad, and it's far from the subjective concept that permeates all, and I mean all, contemporary music. I repeat: the album gave me so many emotions (like... I don't know... the cited dark side). So I give it a 5. If I had to be purely objective, maybe I would give it a 3.5/4. Ciao.
