Flowing and interesting review, I liked it! Ahab are the only band in the world playing "nautic funeral doom metal," undoubtedly among the best new-generation funeral doom bands. This album evokes a remarkable sense of anguish, and it is an excellent work. But there’s little to be done: it will be thoroughly surpassed by the next one, "The Divinity Of Ocean" (masterpiece).

I like the idea of illustrating the characters of the album, but allow me to clear up a couple of curiosities:
1) Why do you say it's their most innovative and hostile album? If anything, it's the opposite since it was the first and still immature, yet it remains my favorite after "Morningrise."
2) HOW THE HELL DO YOU GIVE A 3 TO AN ALBUM LIKE THIS?????? A 5 IS MANDATORY!
3) Why do you start talking about the album's history and not even hint at the emotions a human being can feel while listening to it? And, even more seriously, you don't mention the music contained in it at all? And, between us, who cares about the whole affair that the lyrics talk about (though interesting, and obviously wonderful lyrics)?
That said, a review like this seems quite unworthy of an album like this (although, if it were for another album, it would have been decent, so I’m giving you a 2 instead of a 1, also for the effort). The album is a masterpiece (but not the best).

I would have paid the maximum without thinking about it. I even wanted to buy the limited edition for 52 euros, but I couldn't do it, so I got the classic one. Fantastic record. This is the review I wanted to write. Oh well, yours is already very nice... When I go to Lyon for Erasmus, I really hope to meet them!!!

The Shank sent me their demo by mail for a review, and they even posted my review on their MySpace because they were excited about it... I met them in person and had nice chats with Andrea when I went to see them at the Total Metal Fest... Live, they were devastating (too bad about the vocals, which don’t hold up very well...), and he is super nice! In any case, I love the Lecce scene; aside from the Shank, I consider bands like Nontoccatemiranda, Cast Thy Eyes, Sunward, Traitor, and Nitrojuice to be among the best in Southern Italy, absolutely... For Alien, the similarities with the ‘90s British rock are all there, but to me, the sensitivity seems purely French. I've listened to French bands in very different musical genres (like Alcest or Amesoeurs), and I notice similarities in the feeling...

And instead, yes... her name is Susanne! Ahahah it's the same person hahahaha! XD Well, aside from the fact that your ex is playing in the band, do you like them?

Avenger, I'm happy to respond. The voice of Drudkh is probably one of the most bearable in the atmospheric (and depressive) black metal scene. I mean, if their voice is annoying and screechy, then what the hell is that of bands like Burzum, Austere, or Leviathan??? I don't think it's even a matter of personal taste here, because it’s the MUSIC GENRE itself that demands such a voice, but honestly, I’m surprised to hear you criticize Drudkh for this when there are 10 million bands with a tremendously worse voice. I reiterate, for the genre they play, it’s also quite bearable (or beautiful, depending on your taste). As for the verbosity, okay, I’m verbose as a reviewer, but this review has a normal length compared to the others I've written. It’s biased, I admit, but which reviews on Debaser aren’t??? It's impossible not to be biased for an album like this.

One of my favorite death metal albums! Simply beautiful and full of original and well-thought-out riffs... Anyway, they are Christians, and they are often (by people with little brain) lumped together in the pot of christian extreme metal... anyway, they are great.

Buahahahahah this is exactly the kind of album I would kick out of the window or make my dog swallow (and then poop it out), I HATE bands like this, but your review is wonderful!!! The enthusiasm you put into it is great and especially the distinction between the musical value of the band and what the album wants to express... 5 for the review, 1 for the album. I think this explains everything! :-)
