Anyway Henry, it's true that using beautiful and refined terms in reviews is a great thing; in fact, if you read mine, I often do it when the album deserves it... However, I agree with Airone in saying that you have gone overboard! I mean, unless you did it for irony, at least the first lines of the review are a bit... well, you get the idea.

To be honest, I don’t like the vocals on "Discouraged Ones" because of the production... Maybe that's why I think "Viva Emptiness" is much better (at least technically and musically speaking)... And let’s not forget that Akerfeldt sang on "Brave Murder Day." You might be right when you say it's a matter of taste... For example, I believe the most intense track on this album is "Gone," while the song I enjoy listening to the most by Katatonia is "12"... But having all their albums, I can say that I love them all...

Splendid album, even if it's not the best from Kata... HENRY, YOU SAID A LOT OF NON-NEGLIGIBLE STUPIDITIES ("Saw you drown" the best song by Katatonia?? But have you listened to "Day"??? Besides, Renske's voice on this album doesn't really convince me...), but you too, Airone, don't always lash out at every reviewer you don't like! I agree, I can understand that you might say it's presumptuous, etc., but maybe that's just his way of reviewing... Whether it's liked or not is a relative matter.

Too many people are having the "balls" to play and record an album, in my opinion... considering that we are inundated every single day with avalanches of useless records... and then many of those who really deserve it are completely overlooked! I have nothing against Scars Of Life, on the contrary, but there are already thousands of bands like them (and much better), so if you allow me, I can’t take it anymore! Let's give a voice to those who truly deserve it...

NO, I WANTED TO DO THIS ONE!! Anyway, this is the most underrated album by Opeth but, in my opinion, the best after "Morningrise" and "Orchid". Better than Blackwater Park too. I can’t say which is my favorite song, but I love the melodic intertwining of April, When, Demon, and even the interlude Madrigal... A pure gem in their discography...
