Do I have to listen to it, antmo? Curiosity... but the name and your words inspire me about the mammoth volume...

Derivative dear anonymous is everything by now. The explosions aren’t derivative???? They are a shameless copy (though beautiful, I must admit) of Mogwai, who are surely the forefathers of a certain current in post-rock but haven't managed to innovate since Rock Action, if not even before. Being derivative is not a fault; on the contrary! To me personally, the Gybe (even considering them more original than Explosion, Mogwai, et similia) bore me—that's all there is to it. For me, this is way more beautiful than any album by Gybe. As for the insults, anonymous, remember that I only expressed my opinion (maybe I got carried away, I don't know!) but I didn't offend anyone. This trend in post-rock??? Look, post-rock has existed for more than 20 years. By now, it's a meaningless word. I hate people who listen to music based on originality or other things and not on the emotions that music makes them feel. I don’t have smoke in my eyes, but I rather breathe it in, you got that??? Does it bother you so much that I like both Cult of Luna and Callisto??? Go ahead and listen to the latest from Explosions, which can't be more boring...

just a confirmation after out of a center (which is wonderful!). This and the bokor are the best 2 albums of 2007 I've listened to so far. I love the psychedelic and metal contamination in every form, even the more "extreme" ones like kayo dot. Sparse but focused review.

Simply the best that the genre-blending you've written about in the review can produce. Truly astonishing, these. An album like no other in years. I don't agree at all about the more defined style!:-) Their beauty lies precisely in the eclecticism, despite a sound that is certainly derivative (which isn’t these days?), but with that alchemy that makes it recognizable and genuine amid thousands of bands that all sound the same. In my humble opinion, truly GRANDIOSE.

I would say that two other albums that have, let's say, mobilized the genre are "Enter" by Russian Circles and "Noir" by Callisto.

I didn't like it... sparse and with (at least in my opinion) many inaccuracies (did they maintain the hardcore matrix?? doesn't seem like it! do they have to produce a masterpiece? but they already did with Panopticon, I think it's impossible to do better... they're not really part of the hardcore movement but rather in the post-hardcore one... and this album has brought the sound closer to post-rock than to influences from extreme metal). This is all just my personal opinion, emphasizing that Isis are among my top 3-5 favorite active bands.. bye bye.
