Whoever sold it to you as something special was, in my opinion, an honest dealer... I find the radical change in sound doesn't quite fit with the drier tone. By their own admission, it’s a tribute to the sounds of the sixties/seventies, and for my poor ears, "Down below it's chaos" is superior to the band's previous works, which in their realm (that of a post-rock influenced by Roy Montgomery, as GoodEveningMrQ says) still showcased the band’s great ability to be a rather original entity (I also love their earlier works). All this, clearly emphasizing de gustibus...ola.

Before this album, they released five, man... and it’s by no means guaranteed that if you liked their old stuff, you’ll like this one too because their sound has really changed here. Anyway, it definitely deserves a listen.

What can I do?? For my miserable ears, this album (maybe after a couple of good spliffs) is the best.....thanks for the comments....let's just say I like it a looooot more than Comets on Fire.....a comparison that can only be made with this Kinski album since before they were a completely different sonic entity....did Blue Cheer release an album?? Oh my god!!
