Interesting, from how you describe them, I should really like them... if, instead, you're interested in a post-core band that draws a lot more from post-rock, I can recommend Callisto, they're really, really good... drop down a few positions in the reviews and if you like it, give it a read...

Well, maybe you’re right that many consider Neurosis masters of the genre... I consider them the forefathers of the genre... To give an example, Panopticon, for my humble ears, is superior to any album by Neurosis... I know that for many what I just said is heresy, but for me there’s no comparison between Isis and Neurosis. As always, de gustibus non est disputandum.

Listen to it if you can, because it's really worth it. A golden year for post-core: "Noir" by Callisto, "Somewhere Along the Highway" by Cult of Luna, and now an aching anticipation for the new Isis coming out in October.
