finally an interesting suggestion, which is now rare (as far as I'm concerned) here on Debaser. I just ordered it on Amazon. As soon as it arrives, I'll leave a comment. I do have to scold you a bit though: many parts of the review take inspiration from last month's Blow Up special. nonetheless, great suggestion

Finally, an interesting review of Debaser. It's been weeks since I saw one (unlike the Debaser from years ago). The red and orange cover you refer to is from the following album "Kontarskhoz" or something like that. My favorite by Magma is "Udu Wuhdu."

good job psycho!!! finally something valuable and not too well-known. who cares about the reviews from the "legends"... albums like pink floyd. they’ve annoyed me. I browse the internet to discover NEW and high-quality things. this site used to be a source of many excellent, interesting, and well-argued ideas for me. now it’s a competition to see who can review the dumbest album or who has listened to the dark side of the moon the most times. come on...

editors, I'm appealing to you: this site is really becoming a collection of trash. And all these people commenting, saying "useless review," "shitty album." These things shouldn't even be paid attention to, they shouldn't be EDITED!!! I remember that up until 2 years ago this was a serious site, where it's true that there were "reviews from whoever wants," but at least they were reviews made by competent people. Where have caz, zion, kosmogabri, josi, and all the others gone? Only psycho remains now from the old guard. Honestly, I don't understand what still drives me to visit this site. It’s going from being a good store to a shop of junk, where you read on the same page a review of Stockhausen and one of Paola e Chiara, both with the highest ratings.

Great TOMGIL, I loved your comment. What I had avoided saying earlier (to keep the surprise intact) that I really liked has actually been emphasized by you: the ambiguous origin of Joker. This is the point I liked the most.

@ BRIAN: okay, I take back what I said about Bruce Wayne's outrageous wealth at all costs. That was, however, the least important point among the negative notes I mentioned, so I stand by my opinion. Regarding IMDB, what do you mean by "it shouldn't be taken into account because it's voted on by the audience"? I thought Debaser was like that too. Or are we all qualified critics from DAMS? Then what are we even talking about?

A separate note for Joker: great idea not to... actually, I won't say anything to avoid spoiling the surprise, which (I’m sure) few would appreciate as I do. Ledger is good, okay, but I have to say that Joker is inherently a stage animal, so it's not hard to make a good impression in this case, no matter who the actor is: the quirks, the ticks, the madness in general are amplified by the character itself.

a film that is nothing special, heavily inflated by hype. on the imdb site, it’s even proclaimed (due to the average ratings) as the most beautiful film in the history of cinema. it goes without saying that all of this is ridiculous. the film wouldn’t be bad if: 1) it weren't so long and at the same time so fast-paced: too many things happen, and by the end, I felt exhausted; there is absolutely too much going on, especially if you also want to delve into deeper and introspective aspects (raised by joker, 2 faces, gordon). 2) it weren’t so ultra-spectacular with Batman’s gadgets, which even the US army couldn’t afford. 3) Bruce Wayne weren’t so annoyingly spoilt and biased at certain moments. he seems like a pampered heir, so it’s not credible that such a person would be interested in fighting crime at the cost of his own skin. 4) 2 faces goes a bit too far in his madness. for me, the rating is 2.5.

Great album, but my favorite remains Sung Tongs, where vocal experimentation excels. From there on, they become a bit too pop, though still very pleasant to listen to. Let’s say that now they groove with friends, while before 2004 it was LSD at every snack time.

great psycho. the parallel between white wine - valet is excellent. I've never heard the album. I listened to flags of the sacred harp by jackie-o motherfucker some time ago, but somewhat distractedly. I remember that I really liked the traditional pieces, while when they got into cosmic blues that not even the most expansive popol vuh... I found a bit boring.
