CocoRosie La Maison De Mon Rêve

A bit of a sparse review (it doesn’t mention influences from Leadbelly to Patsy Cline, from Sun Ra to the Andrews Sisters, to bluegrass, etc.) of a fantastic album. What, no one has listened to and reviewed their new album yet?
Sonic Youth Daydream Nation
Voto:
Daydream Nation is a masterpiece, deserving a solid 9, but Evol would deserve an 11 (if that existed), stuff from another planet, like Hendrix's first one.
dEUS The Ideal Crash

At the time, everyone was disappointed by the soft-rock turn of this album. They spoke of it as a betrayal. Instead, it's the kind of album that should be listened to after a long time and reevaluated. It may not be their best record, but it is full of wonderful moments, and most importantly, it is one of the best productions ever.

Nice album, not quite the masterpiece that people say it is (a couple of tracks a bit too orchestral) but decent. Still, when it comes to the folk-pop scene, I much prefer the Norwegian one.
Death The sound of perseverance

"A virtuosic ability such that at times it feels like listening to a jazz-rock session" (cf. Rumore review) I completely agree.
Pink Floyd Echoes The Best Of

I share your opinion on Syd Barrett: as much as we talk about the Floyd, the first two albums remain the real masterpieces of the band. Everything that came after is historically relevant, more or less, but... More is also very beautiful. By the way, is he still alive? Is there any news about him?
Pink Floyd Echoes The Best Of

Look, generally I don’t like anthologies, and this probably isn’t even a best, at least not in the intentions I hope/think, but the contrast between the various old and new experiments, even though today’s technologies could do better, in my opinion works wonderfully. Sorry for the controversy, but that's how I feel.
Pink Floyd Live 8 Reunion 2 Luglio 2005

This bullshit of Live 8, with all its passionate hypocrisy... where are we? It seems to me that you're exaggerating about the Floyd; they WERE a great band, but it's like watching a movie the day before it gets pulled from the clubs, they don't mean anything to me anymore. At least they won't be fighting a legal battle, but these money and court adventures of old rock glories sound gossipy and counterproductive. It's always the money that ruins bands, despite the good intentions of the pro-Africa concerts.
