Oasis Definitely Maybe

I also have the DVD, and it’s truly beautiful to see the old live performances of Oasis. They weren’t technically perfect, but gentlemen, what a voice Liam had?! The only note to make about the DVD is that it’s not translated into Italian, and often the Gallaghers speak in Mancunian dialect, so it’s already difficult for me to understand what they're saying, and at times it becomes impossible..! Anyway, this album blew me away on the first listen and it came into my life during a time of inner changes, which is why I feel particularly connected to it, aside from the objective beauty of the songs.

Thank you all for the comments on my first review!
I've always read yours and I have to say that you are all very talented and know a ton about music, so much so that I've discovered a lot of things about de-baser!
Charles, I wrote the review for Definitely because it was unacceptable to see a review that gave this album 1/5. I realize that it's quite lengthy, but I cut as much as possible; I could write an encyclopedia about this album!
Thanks again to everyone!
Madonna American Life

As the good Mick Jagger said, "Madonna is a drop of talent in a sea of ambition." She is also the matriarch of that generation of her epigones like Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and others who saturate the airwaves. It must be said that her albums are better and more innovative than those of the current pop princesses, but this is solely thanks to the geniuses she hires as producers. Much admiration, however, for manager Madonna, a woman with real guts in my opinion.
Elio e le Storie Tese Live In Milano Spazio Pubblico Leoncavallo - 30/10/2004

I confirm what Kosmogabri said about Elio's character; I’ve never met the others. Anyway, one evening in '97, I went to San Siro with my comrades, and that night Inter was playing (I went to see it only because I got in for free... I can accept a lot, but Inter, definitely not). Elio arrived at the stadium riding his Vespa wearing a yellow poncho (what’s that about?! Who knows?!). We ran into him at the entrance gate, and one of my friends, who was a huge fan of his, went to compliment him, telling him he was great. Notice that he didn’t ask for autographs, or any of those things. So, what did Elio do? He didn’t even acknowledge him! Besides, there wasn’t any crowd, and the situation was ideal for approaching your idol to exchange a word. I remember being quite disappointed, although I’ve never been a big fan of EELST. I liked their playful nature and their charm, but when I realized it was just a facade, they started to get on my nerves. Since then, I judge the artist only by their music because appearances can be very deceiving.
P.S.: To Kosmogabri, I read that you called Liam Gallagher a jerk in a comment; well, the experience with Elio should teach you that the clothes don’t make the monk, and paradoxically, Liam might be the nicest person in the world (I emphasize might), as some friends of mine, who met him in a pub in London last year, told me they spent an hour with him, with drinks offered by the rockstar.

Listen, Kosmogabri Gallagher might be a bit of a jerk, but he has an amazing voice, and if you think he sings completely from his throat, he has a stamina that, if you tried it, you'd be left without a voice after three songs. I absolutely don't think he copied his style from Burgess; just listen to Stone Roses, Sex Pistols, Kinks, and the like to hear where Liam took his cues. Also, I think Charles meant to say that in this live performance, Burgess seems like a watered-down version of Liam Gallagher, not in an absolute sense. Live performances, especially of a singer, are certainly not all the same, and I'm telling you this as someone who sings. There are many factors that influence voice and interpretation, so it’s entirely possible that on that day, good old Tim wasn’t particularly in shape, as it also seemed to me. Ultimately, Burgess's voice isn't bad at all, but the Liam of that era is unreachable for Tim. That’s all, of course, imho.

How did you say, pretty boy? Did you prefer to hit yourself on the zebedei? Aaaaahhh so you’re a masochistic child! Good good, but did you also play with the bottle? Or did you do 5 against 1 with your friend Franco Strobo?

I would like to point out that Robbie Williams is an excellent performer and anything but trivial. We're still in the pop realm, okay, but the fact that his musical products are far superior to the average is certainly a credit to him. I listen to his CDs, and I enjoy doing so, especially the tracks that were not released as singles. He is a character who takes more from music than he gives, but he is still better than those who take without giving anything at all.
I recommend it for fans of the genre: Swing When You're Winning.

The important thing is that they don't have horrific breath; then around the spinning bottle, everyone is welcome.

Oh, I almost forgot about the votes and to quote Pugliamox for the comment on Darkness... unbearable! If you think Oasis are plagiarists, well then the Darkness can easily be mistaken for Mita photocopiers..!

I would love for there to be a program like Jools in Italy, where bands perform live and create stunning gems. Above all, the cover of I Am The Walrus by Oasis—I have it in various bootlegs of the Gallagher concerts and in their early days it was for a long time the closing song of their live shows, devastating, captivating, psychedelic even though performed with various flaws due to, as Charles wrote, the not-so-refined technique of Oasis. You can feel the freshness of Liam's scorching and powerful voice at the beginning of his career before alcohol, smoke, and coke started to take a toll on his vocal cords. Still fantastic! CHEERS!
