This album indeed marked the end of an era, that of mammoth tours with cutting-edge equipment and everything technically perfect... however, I wouldn’t confine the duo of the rhythm section to just a simple dialogue with the audience; they were truly solid as such, two musicians who might not have been exceptional but were always reliable and present... For me, having seen their peak in Boomerang, it was disappointing not to find anything from that album in Palasport, but, well, people went to their concerts if they wanted to see a cohesive, confident pop band and spend a couple of hours without a care, which, at the time, wasn’t exactly easy to come by, and it wasn’t always something you could openly tell your friends, after all, not to everyone...

I loved them in secret, just as I loved other unconfessable things. Could I ever tell someone from my band of niuueivers that I also listened to Igols and Moroder? They were already skimming over the Bitols and didn’t understand when I told them that Giogeccson was a great, you know what I mean...

The Igols, damn, it was obvious they were too perfect, a bit artificial, overly constructed, all thanks to their past as luxury lackeys for those from that Coast over there. But they had something, in their simple perfectionism, that always captivated me... and this particular piece was truly effective, perfect for what it was created for, the slow dance tune, as we say around here, you know.

When the eight notes of Felder's solo come in, I think that's what you were referring to. They’re so primitive and perfect that you could never do a cover of that song without reproducing them exactly, or else you risk ruining the cover, right?

Then the old PPFarina (older than me, comforting...) is right when he identifies in the encore of Hotel/Long the end of the Igols' career as we knew them. Actually, the end of their career, I would say.

In twenty years, fifteen reviews.
Surely you’re not one of those who write to champion the cause of friends/relatives/lovers/sidekicks?
Then, um... Artificial Intelligence, huh?
If mala tempora currunt, I’d say, who knows what the future holds... as for the supposed credibility of it, well, if only it were a matter of beliefs, because, as a child, I was highly skilled at opening my grandmother's old cupboard, one of those truly ancient ones, still with the latches, but which held unspeakable sweets made by her capable little hands of iglesiente/nebidese import.
These are the only beliefs to which I give credit.

In fact, these were times when every kisicaxera was "other," and it was wonderful to see how different styles blended to create new, mixed, hybrid realities—something good never heard before, yet composed of familiar parts, already known, indeed... There are plenty of examples, and if I mention Talking Heads and Ultravox, I'm merely scratching the surface...

But do the last two years of Ultravox with Midge Ure remind only me?
