"Was I the only one to go with my thoughts, reading the adventures of 'ours', to the ideological fanaticisms of the twentieth century?" Certainly not. Dostoevsky conceived the novel precisely because of the numerous nihilistic attacks that were rampant in Russia at that time.
The "theory on Kirillov's suicide" is more of a theory about God… about how man can "replace Him": suicide is "just" the means.
That the novel "can really instill unease, through certain passages, via the ideas and grotesque faces of the protagonists, even though we are not reading horror fiction but drama" is a statement that makes little sense.

I would also point out the caricature that D. makes of Turgenev, archetype (at that time) of the fearful writer/intellectual who tries to keep one foot in two shoes (appeasing the czarist forces while winking at the young rebels).
