Trophy Scars Darkness, Oh Hell

We all have moments when we "fall in love" with a band or a singer or whatever. It convinces us to the point of asking ourselves how it was possible to live without it for so long. My most recent list includes Fleet Foxes, Shackleton, Red Collar. Then it fades, and our Zappa, Pink Floyd, Dylan, or Residents come back as our guiding spirits. And that's just fine. Otherwise, poor music industry... or is it peer-to-peer downloads?

I really like Great Cold Distance and Night Is the New Day. I’m less fond of metal in its various forms. And this helps me understand the disappointment of the DeUtenti. Night Is is...poprock!

My favorite of my favorites is Sinister Exaggerator. In a nutshell, the future Tuxedomoon, who, if I'm not mistaken, will record for the Residents' record label. Is Ferlinghetti still your favorite?

I certainly am not inclined to listen to these screamo charlatans; they seem similar to Louis XIV (just throwing that out there) except the cover is less sexy, and then you can find stuff like this everywhere, even in Italy. However, if you don't know what to think...

Sea of Cowards by the Dead Weather, Wake Up the Nation, the Drums, Best Coast, and Wavves are on repeat in the car, appropriately interspersed with the complete works of Planet Funk and episodes on Rai 3 to indulge in Pinter and return to those beautiful intellectual-worldly selves that we are.

Mumble mumble...ten albums noted in my special 2010 overall ranking (and one could even credit it to 2009) - just as many in the genre charts (Have One On Me by Newsom, All Days are etc...by Rufus Wainwright, the rework of joy-sisterof-cure by Soft Moon), without being too sophisticated, little quality, but mooolto fun, a tacky (no offense, but they’re really over the top) metal album BlackJazz by Shining (between the title and the band name I expected something completely different, sometimes albums are picked randomly), after forty different listens for n times you get there, until Olimpia from that handsome Ferry reminds you how many soups are reheated...nothing compared to Avalon 2!.

It's not like that: which anti Lady Gaga is nominated by the party newspaper Janelle Monae - Shakira has to face Beyoncé in the Master bracket, opposite Rihanna vs. Kylie Minogue. I remember that the wolfish Colombian was celebrated by a Nobel laureate in literature, while Lady Gaga was recognized by user Darius.
