So flamboyant and sinisterly exaggerated that it becomes grotesque, with hints of involuntary hilarity that make our dear Desaduccio, swaying on the brink of madness, almost endearing. I would recommend a parallel reading of Madame De Sade by Mishima, the perspective of the half-Penelope.
