Joanna Newsom Have One On Me
Voto:
It would be a shame to equate, as reviewed by the Punisher, Newsom to those disheveled pamphlets and questionable quality films. I won't deny that "Have On Me" could be condensed, sped up, and corrected into an album and a half; however, there is a lot of quality here. Those who enjoyed the previous "Ys" (who besides me?) will find greater simplicity and immediacy: rather than new age, I would say slowcore. To put it in the words of our Samuelino, it’s better to abort than to be sterile.

Surely comfortable, like all those little things we are used to and of which we are content; those things that calligraphically mark our Piedmontese-ness and my (our?) Monferrato-ness. Sometimes in a chestnut you find the gianin, (little worm), and in Nelson "Los Amantes del Mambo" and "Bodyguard for Myself" are to be discarded as inedible/audible (Conte still sings in English, but rightfully in Spanish in the anthology of Elio e le storie tese!). And "C'est Beau"? Not even Bryan Ferry with sinusitis. Certainly, the poetry of "Nina," the Astigian-swing of "Sotto la luna bruna," and "L'orchestrina" are the world of Conte that we love, cherished by his wonderful live performances.
Longing For Dawn Between Elation and Despair

I listened to these Canadians on YouTube: the plague of growl (does anyone really like it?) ruins everything in the end. The Swedish Katatonic have gladly given it up without losing anything in darkitudo. A nice ambient doom otherwise.

Sober despair, just what was needed for yet another rainy day.

I would like to suggest to ALE9TO, and to everyone who doesn't know him yet, a record from 2010 by Manu Katche, a drummer with an impressive resume, who delights with Third Round in an "atmospheric" jazz, guaranteed by ECM...

It's one of the best live albums ever. And I'm not a Who addict. Dear JD, let's raise a glass!
