Why on earth should the artist become unbearable for an operation done at their expense? Can we no longer listen to Grace? And what about all the often painful live bootlegs due to technical or personal reasons of Ian Curtis that always circulated around the same 10 tracks—do they make Unknown Pleasures or Closer unbearable? The best response to these operations is not to spend your money on purchases and save your soul by also rejecting P2P, and to cast a pitying veil over the episode.

To expect to make an instant record even for a noble cause doesn't seem like a great idea to me: either you have a "magic touch" in composition, or wouldn't it be better to work on it a bit, weigh the ideas, and pour some soul into it to come up with a decent single, rather than piling up in a big, artless group, leaving everything in the hands of the "masters"? I wouldn't want it to be the case, as usual, that since it's charity, even expired products don't get thrown away... but then remember that three people (who don't even make one) came up with one of the worst pieces of vinyl at 45 RPM, "Il mio nome è mai più"—IF ONLY IT WERE TRUE!

@italianpeople: many have approached XTC with Nonsuch, the album from 1992, and I've heard more than one praise the band as the new Beatles just released, ignoring that XTC had been playing since 1978!

Of TV on the Radio, I know the first full-length album, Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babies: the first two words that came to my mind upon first listen were new wave and Pere Ubu - a desire to push beyond with sounds and music that are not only original, a sort of hybridization of styles, which, in my opinion, has become too cold in other subsequent singles I’ve listened to on US blogs, I would say "by the numbers," something not impossible given the guitarist's production specifics. There's a lack of a touch of madness; perhaps there’s too much and it's unhealthy in Brooklyn, and there are no more stimuli coming from the West Coast...looking California/feeling Minnesota. Great review.

Great review, I only know the single Great Fire by Mummer, I'll definitely get it (4 stars on trust)! A true machine for...popsongs are the XTC! In my opinion, only the Divine Comedy and when inspired, the Franz F. (late epigones or epigones late/party) can aspire to the handover.
