I didn't mind it. I understand it's nice to put on a show, but the only justified comment, besides the reviewer’s, was in the first comment. If you were expecting De Niro from thirty years ago, Scorsese's direction on a screenplay by Schrader, while instead you're dealing with a film written and directed by two unknowns(?), that's your problem. Taken for what it is, it seems to me a good film. And, regarding the screenplay, I would be curious to know where you learned that an original screenplay is required to make a good film. I seem to remember it was a bit haphazard at the end anyway.

In short. Erika De Nardo, next year, when she is released, will have done about ten years, and we are talking about someone who brutally murdered her mother and brother. As for Buzurr, I know there was talk of self-defense and anyway he killed a jerk (:D); his sixteen years seem more reasonable to me. Rather, they should arrest him again for his continuous assaults on music.

For me, what’s missing isn’t the emotional strength: when it comes to Kozelek, you can always count on that; I think it’s more a matter of inspiration and “bite,” as you rightly mention a few lines later. This is enjoyable, of course, like anything else that comes from Kozelek’s mind, but it simply doesn’t live up to the previous work, it’s not as inspired. Do yourselves a favor (novella Fosca, Nico, and anyone else), make sure to get “The Ghosts of the Great Highway” first.

I saw it in the cinema, I assume when it came out, I don't remember much, aside from the scene with the stroller. Overall, though, I have a good memory of it. I will rewatch it.
