One of my many shortcomings is not knowing De André adequately, the quintessential Italian singer-songwriter (and more). Fortunately, though, I know this extraordinary album that has been given a detailed, explanatory, and at the same time very accessible review. The De André-Fossati collaboration has been nothing short of prolific, quality-wise in terms of music, and the final result is a particularly enjoyable record that is enriched compared to De André's previous productions, making it one of his few (the only?) works that is musically in tune with the times.

Wow! I think the review will end up right among the favorites (maybe among the browser favorites) - without even reading it - if only to have something to laugh about for several days (months?). I find the album quite valid and I don’t see (or hear) them having worsened since their early days. I'm referring to the Young Liars EP: perhaps less straightforward than this work, darker, and with a really badass title track, but maybe not as beautiful. I don’t remember Ok Calculator, I should give it another listen, but this is a good album and the review is nice too!

Anyway, great initial idea for the review and the album is really beautiful. It's hard to declare the best, but this one is well positioned.

I especially liked the one about AC/DC: a band inspired by Led Zeppelin that emerged in '73, when Zeppelin already had five of their best albums under their belt. But the one about the cover also makes sense: after all, all the old farmers sell like hotcakes, not a nice pair of tits - how disgusting, tits... - or Spears, who half-naked takes center stage on the cover.
