It will never be clear to me what is so evil about pop. I'm waiting for the jerk who will respond with, "Well, I just don't like it." And so, why does Nes say he doesn't deserve the peaks - whatever that means - that the reviewer dedicates to him? Can't the reviewer like pop? I can understand "mainstream," if one wants to refer to a song with questionable artistic qualities, but trendy and created solely for commercial purposes... but pop?
