Inflated. But the intro remains in the annals of the six strings as one of the most glorious patterns in rock music.

Crooked Rain is better packaged and less emotionally fluctuating, and that’s why it feels less genuine to me. Overall, it may be more successful, but I truly can’t prefer it to the purity of "Slanted and Enchanted." Not to mention the more significant lo-fi imprint of the former and its importance in the evolution of the genre.

The mere "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is worth five. Then Duran Duran significantly lowers the average, but the assassin moon brings the average back to decency. And then great comeback hits: "Under the Milky Way" and, why not, "Head Over Heels." The film lives up to it.
