I want to clarify that there are many interesting points for me. Imagination, fools, and out on the street are excellent. No return, it ain't easy, and feelings are very good. Then there’s Carry on, which is decent, and won't... which I find to be the only weak point of the album. I also have the remastered CD that has some very valid bonus tracks, including the stunning version of think it over sung by Sloman (which will later appear on abominog with Goalby on vocals). I believe that, in the end, to appreciate this album it’s necessary to accept the band's AOR turn and Sloman's strong soul timbres in his singing.

This was a review I had planned, but I’m glad it was done by a competent and objective reviewer. I've said it on other occasions and I'll repeat it here: this is one of my favorite albums by Uriah Heep. But I understand it may have confused many. Those were years of change in hard rock, and the Heep progressively distanced themselves from their characteristic sound, while still maintaining a strong sense of melody and vocal harmonies. In my opinion, the two newcomers did a great job. Sloman has a truly unique timbre and an uncommon ability to modulate. Slade himself confirms that he is a creative and gifted drummer. Ultimately, for me, the criticisms of the album are unjustified and probably due to extra-musical factors.
