abaco: probably when sh1 came out you were 10 years old and didn't play video games, so I understand that it doesn't mean anything to you now, but when it was released, it was a step forward; before, survival horror was Resident Evil: action and a few scary moments. Then came Silent Hill, and the world of survival horror was never the same again: stress accompanies you throughout the game, just like in Doom 3, in Dead Space, and in the previously mentioned Project Zero. Everything starts from sh1; the plot? Who cares; the game was so terrifying that the plot was the least interesting part (by the way, poorly developed) of the entire masterpiece.
