I almost forgot: "the film from 1993 ultimately wins anyway [...] because it has now firmly layered itself in the hearts of millions of fans (including me)." This sentence is, excuse me, a load of nonsense. Unless you consider Laura Pausini the best Italian singer because she has entered the hearts of so many Italians that she is the only female singer to fill S.Siro.

All movements are touched up and made smoother on the computer. Okay, let's talk— the script for Coraline is not remotely comparable to the Divine Comedy, so your example is a bit of a stretch. As for Vogler: Vogler didn't invent anything; he simply noticed that the structures of a ton of films and stories were identical. He put the Hero's Journey on paper but didn't come up with anything new: Christopher Vogler - Wikipedia The 3D in Coraline is always there, maybe it’s a problem for you if you haven't been to a decent theater, but the 3D is present from the opening credits (where it shines) all the way to the end, practically in every scene.

"A nightmare... how the hell can you do bodybuilding with that loser?" how can you do bodybuilding without crushing your self-esteem, that's the first question you should ask yourself anatas, then once you find the answer you're free to put on whatever you want from Overkill to Blind Guardian from Sacred Reich to Vanden Plas.

Technically, I repeat, it's not pure stop motion but like Corpse Bride, it makes use of computer graphics. I find the subject of Nightmare... more genius, but that's a matter of tastes. As for the technical discussions regarding the screenplay, I would say they're irrelevant. Moreover, if a film relies on 3D technology to attract an audience, it might mean that this whole masterpiece isn't what it claims to be. (Still beautiful, though.)

Burton was the supervisor throughout the filming... meaning he was on set almost every day, or every other day... this differentiates Nightmare Before Christmas from the works you mentioned. "Coraline and the Magic Door" is exceptional and to be honest, even superior." Superior in what sense? (assuming that it is not entirely in stop motion, but has a good amount of computer graphics, I find it difficult to compare it directly, among other things)
