I heard and saw the video for Funeral. The video and the song (not extraordinary) seem like the next big thing/wooahh/Hypermaster of any indie album from the 2010s. A cute singer with the standard anti-smile, a video looking for tenderness and a few unpurchased likes. If only it had come out back then, in 2009, it could have worked. But there was already a significant indie proposal: First Aid Kit, Neutral Milk Hotel, Andrew Bird, and countless others, not to mention the heavyweight Sufjanists and early Boniverists who populated the beautiful nights of the Midwest, creating more or less successful clones.

Have you ever noticed that in Sucking Up Your Souls it seems like the repeated voices endlessly say "Grana Padano, Grana Padano...". Now I just can't listen to it again with the same unease...

These industrial esoteric monographs are very good. In this case, I don't know the record, meaning I've never listened to it. I want to try.

Here it is finally. Thank you for having the courage to tackle the unmanageable! A review that's hard to write, too challenging for a fan like me.
As pointed out above, it didn't give me the same thrill as decades ago when I got this record. The idea of breaking it up into monthly releases felt more like a production bonus in a paycheck than the magic of waiting for a beautiful vinyl CD complete with high-quality artwork that we've come to expect from realworld. But I’m old. But he is too, eh. Tracks like "playing for time" are the ones I would have focused on the most. Moving voice from an ex-professor lion with soulful authorial nuances in such melodic beauty. I'm less convinced by the pieces with the usual excellent bass/drums from the two phenomena who play them, though—too similar to the sounds and rhythms of US or SO. Come on, it feels like half of the tracks on this one came from that album. But I like the mixing aspect. I prefer the normal one. The bright mix sounds really bad in my car; maybe it's a problem with my terrible sound system. I'll stop, I have too much to say, too much nonsense. Great album as always, Peter. Kudos to the reviewer.

"these new groups Baustelle, Virginiana Miller" brings a fond smile to think back in 2023 of Baustelle as a "new indie band proposal." What a trip through time.

I am adding the video contribution of this lovely interview recounting a recent exhibition dedicated to his visionary graphics.

About a month ago, I listened alone with headphones to Nature Unveiled. I'm not easily impressed by nature, but I slept with the lamp on. Tibet has always struck me as an artist; beyond easy esoteric journeys that seem a bit chaotic in intent and content, I appreciate his masterful expressiveness, which, if not intact even today, is even reinforced. Kudos to the reviewer who highlights the darker ambient and contemplative side of this album, certainly not the only interesting episode from the last 15 years of Current.

One that I shamefully do not know. Attractive rather than less so.
