Funny, starry singer. However, get the instrumental music of the Yellowjackets. My favorite: Greenland.

everything is beautiful. And then you can sing "let it be" directly to the tune of "seduti in riva al fosso" or vice versa.

It's not that I've focused too much on these scenes in recent years. I like her voice, which is quite low. She has a rockstar attitude and doesn't want to come across as refined, and that's why I like her. I mean: even Lou Reed sometimes sounds hoarse live.

even for the one you mentioned "not for the money..." the lyrics were partly written by Giuseppe Bentivoglio, who wrote the lyrics of songs such as "canzone del bombarolo," "canzone del maggio," "la ballata degli impiccati," "un giudice," and "verranno a chiederti del nostro amore."

@brat nobody questions De André's talents. Rediscover some of Bubola's albums, "diavoli e farfalle" for example. Bubola has nothing to envy either to poets or to other singer-songwriters. He was just put in the background, probably also due to his personal character, but that's just my opinion.

@Brat: co-author in a manner of speaking. He would write the songs, then De Andrè would add his touches to the lyrics and rewrite some parts. For example, "hotel supramonte" is a sort of reworking of "Hotel Miramonti," which is the original song by Massimo Bubola. In this sense, I feel I can say that Bubola has never been sufficiently rediscovered in these years.

@dictionary. Let's leave Zappa aside. His records operated on different logics compared to those of an Italian singer-songwriter facing an audience that is certainly sophisticated in taste, but that surely expected simple, melodic songs with non-trivial lyrics. The very fact of introducing a nearly traditional blues like "Quello che non ho" in a collection of songs like his brings freshness and originality. Notice this: every time "quello che non ho" closes a verse, there’s a change in tempo that is quite difficult to catch. It’s not the simplest stuff, yet it has stayed in the hearts of many people.

Come on guys. Let's say something about the album which is beautiful. I knew about the legend, which I'm not sure is confirmed, that part of the proceeds from this album were used to pay the ransom to the anonymous kidnappers who kidnapped De André and Dori Ghezzi. Does anyone know if this is true?

Verdi Pascoli is a remarkable piece. It may seemingly appear as filler due to its reggae rhythm, but the lyrics are both humorous and melancholic, a bit like Franziska. Ave Maria is sung by Mark Harris, who collaborated on the music's composition.

The songs by De André that you mention have Massimo Bubola as the author. Indeed, his lyrics are rather cryptic, but in this album, there are precise meanings. Some are hidden, while others refer to De André's very human history, for example "hotel supramonte." The review is nice, but it might benefit from more detailed documentation. From a strictly personal perspective, I find this album slightly inferior to Le Nuvole.
