There’s nothing strange about re-recording vocal or instrumental parts of live tracks. It’s a common practice in large productions. If you like raw stuff, stick to the bootlegs. But you can’t expect that in a box set costing 50 euros or more, Peter Gabriel’s voice sounds terrible, both in terms of how it’s recorded and its intrinsic quality.

what a terrible piece. The review is much better.

the pit and the pendulum above all. Terrible review, you had nothing to say, the ink on this page blends with the white background.

but what would be the "message" of the Modena City Ramblers' songs?

I tell the truth, the works that are finely crafted like the album with string arrangements are ultimately the most beautiful. But this unfortunate artist hasn't often been able to enjoy such beautiful arrangements. As much as I like how the guitar sounds, I find that without such orchestrations, the tracks reviewed here lose a bit of flavor, whereas I do agree on the beauty/essentiality of Pink Moon.
Fabrizio De André Fabrizio De André in teatro @ Tour 1992-1993

yes, I confirm. I saw him in Ferrara perhaps a year before he died. It must have been '97. The concert with Piero Odorici and Ellade Bandini if I'm not mistaken. The last concerts were sublime from every point of view. His son was alone on stage with an acoustic guitar and voice performing some of his own songs; I liked the son much better back then. I also shook hands with De André, telling him that I was at a loss for words, very timidly, keeping a wonderful memory of that moment.

Sometimes, in front of the "psychotropic" breakfast cup, I too chant some antiquus song.
The Velvet Underground The Velvet Underground & Nico

a very influential album with flashes of great light and equally elusive shadows. I have a more visceral passion for Reed's later years: New York remains my stronghold, even as I begin to delve into the world of the blue mask, an album with very strange and truly unsettling solos. I must say, however, that here we find magnificent things like "the european son" alongside the already mentioned tracks with Nico. But I’ll share my opinion: let’s leave Nico aside... isn’t the magical mysterious world of Lou Reed's lyrics from the later years more intriguing? The review is in line with the era, not so much with the music.

The new songs are even better than the old ones, but out of snobbery, we always have to say that we were better off when we were worse. What a drag.
