Dolly Parton Hungry Again

I've noticed that on these pages words like "patinato" and "plasticoso" or similar are often associated with artists and music whose peculiarity, on the contrary, is to have a well-crafted, modern, and enjoyable sound. It's better not to generalize, especially regarding this excellent artist! I honestly believe that not all low-fi recordings are necessarily a great beauty and that it’s a matter of taste. In my opinion, the search for rare bootlegs just because they sound "genuine" is often a waste of time, but this doesn't apply to everyone.

look how beautiful this record is. The artist's only flaw is being a bit too much like himself over the decades. Other than that, his way of writing reaches people directly; sometimes it moves you, sometimes it’s angry, and sometimes it’s touching. What I've noticed is that he has grown in refinement and style, and it's a nice slap in the face to those who think they can make good Italian music with overly aggressive soul singing and intonizers! He certainly doesn’t need that. I go crazy for the stadium version of his "c'è"...simply magical. Even the cover album he recently made manages to be independent, original, and biting. He deserves it.

Now I "auto-eliminate my self." I must have also accidentally stepped on "the conception of Evolian history." But no problem: I will soon take refuge in my "Ritual-Industrial universe." Cyclical greetings!

Steve Hackett Genesis Revisited

For the ratings: the review is heartfelt and also accurate. However, I'm not convinced that "your own special way" is as much of a jingle as "i know what i like" from the old discography with Gabriel, just to give an example.
Steve Hackett Genesis Revisited

Well, perhaps it's a bit of an exaggeration to say that Hackett doesn't measure up to the other two from a musical standpoint. He is, after all, a great connoisseur of the instrument and a decent composer. Likewise, it's also an exaggeration to say that Banks/Rutherford are only dealing with a commercial repertoire (see the post-Gabriel first two albums with Collins). In any case, the critique is precise and timely, and the album is indeed what it is: a reinterpretation that is by no means demanding in terms of originality. Bill Bruford, however, is a master of electronic drumming, and in the end, even Collins dabbled in playing it in the following years. It’s just a symptom of changing times compared to the vintage progressive.

I misspoke: I meant to say that The Lamb is preferable to the trilogy in some respects.

It's a matter of taste. For me, the much-loved "trilogy" is such a different work from The Lamb that it actually represents perhaps the masterpiece of the band with Gabriel. For its originality, sound, and also an attempt to steer away from the usual pseudo-folkloric aspirations of that time. If we want woods, elves, fairies, goblins, even Jethro Tull and myriad other groups included them in their albums during that period. The Lamb is a unique and unrepeatable case.
