Wings Over America remains unparalleled. Rather than engaging in the age-old debate over who is more "talented" or "introspective" between Lennon and McCartney, I would rather focus on the great ignorance our country has regarding McCartney's Wings. Or Wings themselves. Songs like "My Love" possess a class and pure fabric. Aren't we talking a bit too much about The Beatles, particularly the Beatles of the sixties with all these reissues... are we not perhaps overestimating them a little too much as well?

For this type of music (jazz and partly also fusion), however, I’m less interested in the "historical" aspect of everything the musicians have done in the past. I’m more interested in deeply understanding the purely musical expressive techniques. This is because this type of music is not easily accessible, and I believe that the listener needs to make a little more effort, especially when listening to a jazz improvisation. Then, everyone can still enjoy it because it "relaxes" or because it's pleasing to hear drum rhythms, and that’s undeniable.

The review is good. The album is an excellent proposal. However, "Haden plays in basic" is true, I think I understand what you mean. It’s emotional and thrilling and minimal, and there’s no doubt about that. But he enriches the collaborators he plays with in an extraordinary way. Have you heard "beyond missouri sky" with his friend Pat Metheny? Don’t you think it enriches and creates a base of great emotional value and contemplation for the guitarist’s work? And how is it in this album with Jarrett?

Hi everyone, it’s been a while since I last wrote here. This is a really tasty album that I will be getting. The review is a bit reductive; I would focus, if someone is able to do so, on the technical aspects of these musicians.

When one talks about honesty, they should be honest: "impreparazione armonica" means that if you are creating a song with a certain chord progression or a particular harmony, you throw in a random chord or harmony without considering the relationships between the different chords... So to write a beautiful song, you don't need a very rich harmonic progression or atonal music... three chords are enough. I believe it's a mistake to talk about music in these terms, especially for a musician who loves Springsteen, where often the chords do not exceed the number 3.

The reviewer refers to the concert in Bologna in front of the Pope. Magnificent performance of Forever Young, followed by unnecessary controversy about his presence. Music is music everywhere, and if he wanted to pay tribute to the Pope, he did well; this way, I could appreciate the warm, off-key, and powerful interpretation of the piece.

The only thing I witnessed in Bologna in 1997 amidst general indifference was the most beautiful and touching rendition of Forever Young that I can remember, sung by Bob Dylan. To me, all these distinctions about artists' consistency seem hypocritical. When the music is beautiful music, the rest doesn’t matter.

I find him delicate when he doesn't seek the spotlight, but to make a living, you also have to go on TV, right? Even this latest single "Piove," which has been criticized so harshly, is reflective and calm and expresses well his music and his relationship with himself. What harm does it do? I preferred the ballad that talked about Milan; that one is truly beautiful. He lives this double life of a session musician who wants to be a singer-songwriter or a singer-songwriter who knows how to play well, and it can't be easy to separate the two to appeal to a broad audience. The result is always convincing for me. He is not a particularly unruly musician but is capable of writing introspective and even ironic songs with a sense of good taste that will always keep him slightly on the fringes of the music of those who want to impress at all costs. His dimension is fine as it is; it’s a very enjoyable journey.
