You've piqued my curiosity. I have some doubts about the discourse on rhythm. Arrhythmia is a nasty beast that should rightly be checked out by a specialist. However, even in the absence of a drumbeat, pulsations still exist; rhythm is there. The long-standing notion that slow equals boredom hasn't affected me for a long time. Since I started to love Talk Talk and chamber music, both slow and fast tracks can be incredibly beautiful in their own right. For instance, grindcore, while extremely fast, sometimes evokes laughter and other times many yawns, probably due to my personal taste.
