Tamikrest Toumastin
Voto:
It's just the "type" of Tamikrest to have mentioned these three as their references multiple times, but I also feel them a bit distant. I would also give four stars to this album, which sounds more Western and less like Tinariwen (by the way, speaking of Tinariwen, "Tassili" for me is a bit of a step back compared to their last two albums which were truly excellent), but in the end, it doesn't possess the same strength as "Adagh," which really surprised me in a very positive way. Nonetheless, it's commendable, if only for the more or less successful attempt to build a well-defined identity that is independent from their - unreachable? - masters.

Wow, you're badass, buddy. I hope, I guess, you have more reviews in store (but also in Norwegian and Neo-Carolingian) for all of us. I missed these, being all busy chasing women, in both Milan and - I believe - in Rome. Considering the enthusiastic content of your page, that was unfortunate - I imagine. Especially since, I still imagine, thanks to one of their concerts I might have saved the many euros I spent on different types of drugs and hallucinogens. What a shame.

The intro of this big page is truly captivating and deserves a full five. As for the rest, what can be said about this album with such optimistic content that hasn’t already been remarked upon by more attentive and tragic listeners? I would say that it is an album as distressing and full of ill omens as it is excellent. In the end, as far as I’m concerned, it’s the only one by the band truly deserving to be considered exceptionally badass, given that they (after this album) never reached these heights again, proving to be, of course, a decent pseudo-wave band, but not as cool as we all would have liked. Consequently, I have nothing left but to scratch myself, hoping for a better future, and extend my best regards to you. We'll read again, perhaps.
David Bowie Heathen

I join comment number 4. Outside is probably the only truly noteworthy thing Bowie released post-70s (I'd save a couple of songs from Hours, but whatever). Other than that, this album is worth at most two stars. Yes, you can love it, remembering how much you listened to it during those summer nights when you should have been studying for your graduation exams, but in the end, it still has a lingering stink. The worst part for me is definitely the Pixies cover. Almost as bad as the new arrangement of Rebel Rebel in the special edition of Reality... Well, maybe Reality is better: there Bowie seems, all in all, much more sincere (to the extent that the term "sincere" can be used with Bowie) and generally faithful to his image as a kaleidoscopic pop-art jokester (starting from the cover).
