I listened to some songs and it's a deadly bore. There are alternating pseudo chill-ambient loops and almost post-rock stuff over which some guy laughs/cries/yells without any logical sense and, above all, without hitting because it's not incisive at all. In this sense, they seem to want to retrace what they did in 1977 with Frankie Teardrop, but they are failing.

And to think that I rediscovered my passion for it only a few weeks ago after about 5 years of total emptiness... Only on the PC, though, since I mostly play FPS and on consoles (which I don't even own) it's a pretty terrible setup. Between the mouse and the analog sticks, mouse all the way!

I leave you with three options: 1) Learn the concept of self-irony through mantras; 2) Get yourself treated; 3) Step out of your ideal world and face what really grinds your gears, not a silly comment on a site made by people you'll never know. Or look up the definition of "respect" in the dictionary and stop with the self-pity.

It's a shame I wasn't there. I'll make up for it in February; I have to see them before I kick the bucket. Anyway, I wouldn't say they're washed up, especially after the last album. I don't know how many people with a vast following on a global scale (even though they're labeled as "indie/alternative/whatever") come back with something so rarefied and ambient after an album that's appealing to pretty much everyone, like that impossibly-titled one, only to deliver what’s notoriously the most boring music ever conceived by the most notoriously boring band in operation.
