perhaps the weakest link in his excellent discography. it lacks the expressive depth of a Rock Bottom and the free and hallucinatory experimentation of one of the best albums ever in rock, End Of An Ear.

Note: No problem, I should perhaps say this, as your response was not related to my question, but at this point it strongly suggests that the existence of Parker's Historic Quintet in the years 45/48 may have been unknown to you. "Any references that help understand what they did together?" No, nothing in particular, they contributed to the birth of modern jazz. What does antithetical style mean if the two styles happily marry? Listen to Dial and Savoy.
