The contribution of the synthesizer in the music of Rush has characteristics exclusively of creativity and openness towards new and unexplored sound horizons, and never for its own sake. Their style therefore remains unchanged. I consider Power Windows to be less inspired and at times verbose compared to the earlier Signals and Grace Under Pressure. However, it will be in the subsequent masterpiece Hold Your Fire that our heroes will greatly succeed in rewarding us.
