So, before talking about Cosmi, two evaluations. 1) I agree with Allegri regarding the discussion of the "Italian Guardiolas," not regarding the coach who doesn't matter. The coach is important, and quite a lot. A team carries forward a result, whatever it may be (from the Champions League to a relegation in Serie C), when there is a tactical idea and a precise tactical scheme. In this, Allegri is very good, even though he doesn't have great players in Cagliari. The best example that comes to mind, supporting my thesis, is Zeman. There are many players who have their best seasons with him on the bench and then, elsewhere, reveal themselves for what they truly are: mediocre. 2) Tedesco was certainly not discovered by Cosmi, who arrived in 2000 (right after the flood that took the scudetto from Juventus). At that time, Tedesco was already playing and with fruitful results; he had been discovered earlier and launched definitively by others. He has developed other players (like Grosso and Liverani, for example). Now, the character Cosmi, whom I like very much, seems to be a person with his own idea of football and life. An honest person. He is a decent coach, for lower Serie A teams (in negative cases indeed, in B fighting for promotion). P.S. It may be a coincidence, I don't know, but football coaches just can't seem to write an autobiography by themselves. They always need a journalist to assist them.

I've never heard of the movie; the review is good.

At least the groups mentioned as suggestions are written correctly, and I like them, so these might interest me as well.

You are a genius of Evil! Too trashy to put one on you!

@Stoney, no one here wants to convince anyone that they are smarter, at least I believe so. The Slayers defined a new way to play, as Cornell rightly pointed out, and over the years they have gathered a large number of fans. They have evoked emotions because many have found a reason to be passionate about the music, and that's no small feat. Cornell explained all the stylistic merits very well, and I wholeheartedly agree with what he said. The matter of the supposed cause you mentioned is generic, and you are aware of how many you mention; nevertheless, you explained yourself, and the answers to your arguments are there. They may not be to everyone's taste (and that doesn't surprise me at all), but to deny that they have set an example for so many, inspiring them to play in certain ways, is historically inaccurate.

Probably even their successor won't see it. @Stoney, it's not about genuflection, and even if it were, it doesn't only concern the Metal scene. There is always in all genres the aspect of "venerating" those bands that have had a significant influence. It may also be a wrong attitude, and I agree with you on that, but don't reduce it only to certain Metal genres because you're doing a disservice to those who listen to them. The discourse of devotion towards a certain type of music is present but it doesn't only concern metalheads. There are simply defined people who listen to only a certain type of music, very simple. Forget about paladins or mobsters...

Cornell has made an interesting point. Here’s where the problem lies: they could also try other directions (of course, not like their "cousins" Metallica who have heavily regressed), but someone would frown upon it because we associate the group with a certain kind of music. Is Thrash Metal dead? I don’t think so; let’s just say it’s very difficult to carry on since it has been a reference for many. It's no coincidence that it’s appreciated more when it’s done by names of a certain historical significance rather than by the new generation. It’s a limbo that’s not easy to escape and from which it’s incredibly complicated to emerge successfully. The Metallica know something about that... Where’s the luck of Slayer? Simple: they have never given up their style, that consistency we talked about earlier. They know how to do it and they want to do it; in these times, that’s no small feat.

A guitar genius who met a tragic end, like so many others who burned themselves out. Damn it! Fantastic review!

It’s a business operation and it has to be defined for what it is, even if it’s done by Elio and his companions. This should be said. They are good, but here I don’t feel like rewarding them, also because the unreleased material doesn’t seem like anything special to me.
