Yes, "After Midnight" made by Clapton, I knew it, even though I've never heard his version, I even mentioned it above!

A personal consideration: I find that BB King is much closer to soul than to jazz, as a non-primary but appealing genre! Congratulations on the choice, it's still a great record!

You almost stole it from me just by a hair, very well done anyway, I’ve been waiting for this review for a long time! The album is spectacular, too bad about the short duration, especially since it’s a live recording! However, the brief length can also be an advantage, making the album "pocket-sized" and appealing even to those who might not be too keen on digesting an hour and a half of blues! The king sings like a god and indeed gives Lucille her space without wanting to overdo it; at one point, he even announces a solo of his (in a song, not just virtuosity for its own sake) telling the audience "I like to play a little bit," if I’m not mistaken on It's my own fault. The review is undoubtedly good, but there are a couple of passages that don't quite earn a full 5!

great comment supersoul, I must say it offers several discussion points! starting with jazz, we are definitely not looking at an album of that genre! yet, in my opinion, there are at least 4 tracks that relate to jazz. hey baby and super blue are, in my view, two tracks that are not jazz but jazzed up, while hold on and you got me on so bad are two full-fledged jazz ballads. of course, it’s a jazz that isn’t the ā€œclassicā€ Coltrane or Tatum or Charles Mingus. but there has indeed been a shift in this regard, in my opinion. regarding the discussion about the band, I knew it was a challenging concept to express, but I wanted to give it a try anyway: I personally find that both (especially Robertson & co.) produce a sound that can be associated with a distant time, surrounded by the countryside and a few farms (that’s the image I’ve created in my mind)... to close, I didn’t know anything about Clapton on travelin' light, did he play it on record?

No, no, I don't like to do many "in the wake of" reviews of the same author; it's all yours! What are you leaning towards?

Well, Woodstock, I’m not offended at all if you also do a review of the album; in fact, it would be nice to have different perspectives on it. You would only enrich our community!
