Diamanda Galas The Divine Punishment & Saint of the Pit
Voto:
I got to know Galas thanks to my literature teacher in high school during the times of the litanies of Satan, and since then I've been utterly captivated! The review is spectacular, but I don't agree with combining these two albums into a single release; they are indeed connected, but each has its own charm. Ending with "Io sono l'anticristo" creates an unsettling feeling that, if accompanied by a few minutes of silence after its conclusion, enhances the experience compared to pairing it with another (certainly not gentle) composition. I remember the second chapter less distinctly than the first; I'm giving it a listen these days, as soon as I capture the right atmosphere!

Thank you ligdjs, I also clearly prefer truth instead, more blues, a beckola, which in various solutions is a fundamental forerunner of hard rock but loses some punch in certain pieces. The cover of jailhouse rock, however, is a gem!

I already didn't like the third chapter of Bat Out of Hell... let alone this one! Pass!

I won't get close to it even if I was shot, that's for sure, even though I appreciate the Jeff Beck bluesman in the first two albums, and also (if less and in a different way) in Guitar Shop! The review starts off well, very well, only to get bogged down in a too-heavy track by track! This could be the first time I read you; you have good potential!

I really liked it a lot; in a sense, I'm looking for some instrumental albums to use as background music and nothing more, something that you can listen to with pleasure without focusing too much of your attention on it. In its own way, that can be a virtue...

In my opinion, she shouldn't be compared to Giusy Ferreri (for goodness' sake) or Amy Winehouse, whom many consider her muse! As mentioned, her role models are different; I wanted to reward the courage of this girl for producing an intense album that is not merely a chart-topping pop record (with some terrible lyrics, it must be noted). I believe we will hear more from her!

Thank you all for stopping by, it's great to have so many differing opinions! Far from being a super artist, she put together a good album in my opinion, which (perhaps also due to the lack of quality in current Italian music) particularly struck me. My personal experience with it was just a handful of days ago; I was in a record store and they played this album. At first, I listened to it as background music and nothing more, but as it went on, it captured my attention so much that I waited for it to finish before leaving the store. Once I got home, I did some research and listened to the album streaming before downloading it... after just a few listens, I returned to the store to buy it. In the end, even if it's not a masterpiece, I think the girl deserves it, and if we don't buy an album every now and then, we're putting the whole music industry at risk!

I understand your enthusiasm; I’m not a superfan of Bruce, but he’s put out a really great album. It’s definitely not a 5 in my ears, but it comes close to the 4 that I’m giving it here! So, is Terry's Song not a bonus track?

perhaps a bit too enthusiastic, but you can understand the reason!
