So many comments... What happened? :) Thanks to everyone... well, I see differing opinions.. Certainly, the Eggs initially performed covers (especially of classic pieces) and only later did Mont unleash his compositional flair, so it's inevitable that the first album is heavily influenced by reinterpretations of movements created by great musicians long before. Undoubtedly, during the same period when this album was released, works of significantly high artistic value were emerging (like the ones you've rightly mentioned); indeed, no one has identified this album as the absolute "beacon in the night" of the era, let that be clear.. It's an album that documents a sonic exploration in its early stages.. Musicians trying to break away from the classicisms with which they have artistically grown to shape their own style, not without experiments or missteps.. but that's normal. @Pibroch: Sorry! I too am a victim of the Englishization of the universe.. I’m lost now.. I thank, as always, the refreshing enthusiasm of Jargon and the compliments from the green manalishi (too kind!) and all the others who love this album, those who don’t know it but want to give it a listen, and those who don’t like it but offer their knowledgeable opinions for the sake of fostering valid exchanges of musical ideas. Anyway, it shows that you're not used to these doses of Canterbury Sound, so I'll try to tone it down.. I'll let you relax for a bit, but don't think that the genre is exhausted here, because there’s still plenty to say... eeer, if there's plenty ;)

I quote Adder in full... except for the vote on the album, which is not based on trust because I have it...

But look... it just so happens that a French site was well stocked with prog records from all nationalities; it’s called Musea (musea.musearecords.com), unfortunately, even though it was the first one I considered, it has now run out of many of the records I need, so I’ll have to move on to other places... I will try The Laser's Edge (lasercd.com) or Wayside Music (waysidemusic.com) or Syn-Phonic Music (synphonic.8m.com), all sites specializing in prog from around the world.. There are also Cosmos Music and Disk Union, but I know very little about them... the latter especially is in Japanese, so I challenge you to understand anything.. ;)

A friend of mine is particularly attentive to interesting releases coming from the countries lately more dedicated to prog (France, Japan, Nordic countries...) and he made me listen to "Herbe de Bizon" on repeat when I asked him. In fact, I was just re-listening to it while writing to him. I haven't downloaded it if that's what you mean... unfortunately, I don't think it's easy to find works like this online. It impressed me to the point that I will order it along with other records I had already planned to have shipped, plus I like to have the originals. I'm sorry I can't be of help to you :(

I managed to listen to it... The connection to certain Gong sounds (especially the initial "La Treve") and to crimsonian nuances ("Blizzard," which is beautiful) couldn't be more spot on. The atmosphere you breathe in is truly varied and engaging... For the relatively few times I've listened to it so far, the enjoyment of the album flows smoothly, which is a pleasure. The flautist Mad'jik Maf does an extraordinary job that immediately stands out. A beautiful proposal. I'm diving back into the album; I still need to assimilate it properly. Bye! P.S. Maybe the 5 is partly dictated by initial enthusiasm, but... well... it won’t be a tragedy to be generous for a work like this :)

@OleEinar: Yes, you would do well to give him this preliminary listening.. ;) Thank you Dr.Adder, thegreenmanalishi and Opel, happy to have been helpful eliodoro!

I know many of the names you've mentioned initially; in fact, the "alternative" proposals are blooming in those areas, but I've only heard of these Zomb and never listened to them... I guess I’ll have to go on a hunt.. Ah! Great review anyway!

Great catch! Although it's not exactly my style, I really appreciate this work; it's truly enjoyable to listen to.

Thank you all! @OleEinar: The Canterbury scene still has a lot to offer on this site, don’t worry.. Clearly, I disagree with preferring the early days of experimental research to the mature jazz fusion, but here we’re talking about absolutely personal tastes.. Anyway, I’m glad that this album had such a positive effect on you! @telespallabob: The next one I’ll review (well, in fact I’ve already written the review, I just need to send it) is far too easy to guess.. ;) Hello Jargon, Bartleboom, Progrock, Ardalo, and cynic, and thanks again!
