@the green manalishi the "garden" in the title I believe can be interpreted in one of these ways (or a bit of all together): a) it refers to the gardens in front of the houses, thus a nod to the bourgeois and respectable environment (the least probable); b) (interpretation suggested by my studies as a future architect... hopefully) the garden is like a threshold between the inside and outside of the house. A space of mediation that is private, but not too private because it opens onto the public. The Lisbon sisters, as long as they have the chance, spend a lot of time in the garden as if in this way they feel closer to freedom even if they are not fully there (they can only observe it and almost touch it). c) (interpretation derived from the book) the fact that in the garden there are trees to which the girls are bound and which somewhat represent themselves. Then the tree (the profane) must be cut down due to an incurable illness and with it goes the lives of the sisters. d) (interpretation derived from some shots of the film) the garden is the sisters. When they are still free, it is well-kept; the moment they are confined, no one cares anymore: weeds grow, leaves are not collected, and after their death the house is sold, so for the Lisbon sisters the garden no longer exists just like the daughters.

Honestly, I don't know if Coppola was the one to come up with the idea of launching it with this name in Italy (if nothing else, approving it serenely), but it is certain that there are many shots of the house from the outside through the various seasons and moments in the sisters' lives (as I mentioned in point d), therefore an emphasis on the garden is given. Anyway, these are my conjectures... there could be another 300!^^ happy holidays to everyone (I'm finally leaving tomorrow!)

It's always a pleasure to see these young minds getting passionate about music! So I'll give you a 4 even though the review has already been done and blablabla... mmuà :)

Well... I've never really liked Lennon that much, just like the hippies... but from that to the nonsense you pull, there's quite a gap.

@ziabice...I actually think that all three films are connected by the theme of women's alienation in a context that is unfamiliar/hostile to them (bigoted parents, the unknown city of Tokyo + a useless husband who doesn’t understand a damn thing, the palace of Versailles). Certainly, in this and in Marie Antoinette, femininity is much more pronounced, but to say that there are no connections beyond the fact that the director is the same seems inaccurate to me^^ .. thanks for the comment anyway, and thank you also to the others (except rikardo XD)

but did you really have to include the farts...?

In no time these types will disappear... the only thing that bothers me is the fact that I can't find the book on Elliott Smith in the bookstore, and instead there are 10,000 bios on these subjects (a book about nothing?)

Well... to remember the past, I prefer to listen to a cassette of Fivelandia again.

I hadn't disdained the melodic turn of No Use, as long as it evolved into something decent. This album is certainly not melodic hardcore (someone threw out the word punk and I didn't understand why... NUFAN have never been that... it's not really accurate and I don't think the band wanted that either... I'll accept punk rock...). In short, they've fallen into rather banal power pop and it disappointed me. I believe that Tony Sly should decide: either try to do something in line with the past, or completely change genre, since the pants he wears here don't suit him and are tight.

Anyway, it seems the band has turned to The Beatles and Elliott Smith for listening and inspiration (at least that's what it looks like from MySpace)... well, if the result is "Sleeping between trucks" (a very naive ballad) or the horrible "Ontario"... maybe it's better they leave it alone.

I give the review a 3 because it neither states that No Use are punk nor that the album is a masterpiece (like some on the web)... I give the album a 2 for the participation.

I don't know if it was intentional or not, but I find it brilliant to label them ROCK PUNK (and I'm not joking! Usually, we talk about punk rock, but with Sum41, I wouldn’t waste that term… for this and because you’re still young, I give you a 3 for the review… as for the band, I won't express my opinion; I would be too much on the (opposite) side… ghghgh>:).
