S4doll, all I know is that Obama's popularity is declining; I absolutely don't have the cards that would allow me to say whether the situation in the USA has improved and by how much... Sure, Bush is gone... thank goodness! But I think the issue is very deep and rooted... in the USA, it’s not a party or a president that governs, but the lobbyists! And here in Italy, we all know who is in charge. As I said at the beginning, I don't save anyone... neither in the USA, nor in Italy. My initial speech was only meant to highlight an important fact: those who have more decision-making power in the world (=USA) are not that much better than us, so it’s pointless to be ashamed in front of other states if we’re all in the same boat! God forbid, if Berlusca were to go, we would have quite a consolation, but still, everything is too deeply rooted. Anyway, I’m not a historian, a political scientist, etc., so it could very well be that once Berlusca is gone, Italy might become the island that doesn’t exist.
