Popol Vuh Affenstunde

I like the review because it captures the experimentalism behind this work, which is not a high point in their production, so a three makes perfect sense, especially for the courage to present such atmospheres on record in 1970. The following P. V. are undisputed and of the highest level; it's clear that many may really enjoy this courageous work, and I mention Julian Cope who says of Affenstunde, "it's a marvel of atmospheres and innocence." Personally, I don't rate it higher than three because I don't like this total absence of harmonic concepts. The Popol Vuh to savor are not the electronic ones but those that lean towards mystical and Eastern sonorities, those that become musically refined and elaborated in the arrangements, those that are mature and more musical. Greetings Krauto from Elio to Everyone.

I always really like your reviews, Mr. Doctor, but this time I believe you have rated this work too highly, which I consider quite below everything they have produced in the past. I have all their albums on vinyl and they accompanied my early youth, but I've never been particularly fond of this one.
Best regards, Elio.

I like essential reviews. Frankly, I don't remember the cover like this—I have the album with a different image, but there have been so many reissues that I couldn't trace back to the original. I don't find the album at high levels because it doesn't yet follow a clear line that will be established in the subsequent ones. Joe, however, is great. I had the pleasure of seeing and hearing him a few months before his passing, and nothing gave me a hint of what was about to happen.

It's there on the shelf, waiting for a long time to be listened to. After this lovely review, I'll place it above the others that are awaiting the same fate. Thank you, Mr. Doctor.

Review that rightly and thoroughly points out the many weak points of this work that does not deserve more than 2 stars; there can be no excuses or honors for a career to receive a higher rating; they have been too sentimental and clumsily mixed here. Thank you, Mr. Doctor, for these always interesting rediscoveries and topics of discussion even when, musically, they are not at high levels like this one. Best regards. Elio

Mr. Doctor doesn’t waste a cartridge and hits the target perfectly, intriguing me with this record that leaves me stunned; I didn’t remember anything about this gentleman and I had even erased his participation in High Tide. After covering my head with ashes, I will try to fill the gap. Best regards. Elio

The review is very intriguing even though it's a bit "long-winded," but this preference for concise things is just my personal taste. I won't rate the album because I only know the self-titled one, which I like a lot. Best regards and take care. Elio

I like the review because it’s technical without too much fluff, and then it knows how to get personal without being intrusive. I don’t love the album that much; for me, three stars are enough, I would reserve the five only for "Alpha Centauri." Thank you and all the best. Elio
