John Coltrane Impressions
Voto:
Coltrane in '60 was coming out of a European tour, having received boos in Paris and mixed reviews from us; the following tour in '61 again collected few accolades from the European audience, unaccustomed to hearing Eric Dolphy, who was working with him at the time. Nonetheless, in '61 he recorded great things thanks to his collaboration with Dolphy, who was eager to accompany him on his journeys to discover new musical territories. Impressions is part of this group of recordings, and you’re right, acqualife, to find it very modal; it is quite close to So What by Davis. Great work.

Great job, a group that deserves fresh attention. I share the 4 stars. Greetings from the DDR production that is currently catching my attention, I recommend a visit if you don't know it already.

Listening to it again, I thought of "Lady in Black" by Uriah Heep while hearing their "Poor Lady." We're not at the level of plagiarism, but there is quite a bit of similarity. Best regards.

A brief review, perhaps a bit too much for an album that deserves more attention. I would add that it is very interesting to listen to the album in mono by first listening to the right channel and then the left. Regards.

Beautiful review of a work that I absolutely didn't know.

The description of all the tracks is a bit difficult to read entirely, but the work you've done overall is appealing to me. The album is remarkable.

Nice proposal and thank you. I don’t know them and I will take care of it.

Like Muffinman, I don't know this record, but I love other works that this Lord of Jazz has done. Thanks for the tip, which I'll make a note of. Best regards.

Well done, a great recovery of a, rightly so, singer-songwriter of the small everyday things. There were also those who said that nothing comes from diamonds while flowers bloom from muck. Here we talk about simple experiences, about the province, I can't help but think about the rooms of daily life in Guccini. Nice album but I can't bring myself to give it 5 stars. Regards

Perhaps because you are the image of the fateful Prog, always dear to me, come o Jonah and once again you bring up a nice piece of work, even if not of the highest level. I share the 3 stars and also your judgment on the sax, which, unfortunately, sometimes seems a little off to me. The work, however, deserves at least one listen from fans of the genre who can indeed hear that the Netherlands was producing a lot of music back then. Regards, Elio.
