Stanley Kubrick 2001: Odissea Nello Spazio

Kubrick himself said: Everyone is free to speculate at their leisure about the philosophical and allegorical meaning of the film. I have tried to represent a visual experience that bypasses understanding to penetrate, with its emotional content, directly into the unconscious.

I agree, very nice. It's probably a choice, but you could have mentioned the pieces you consider the best; other than that, good job.

Aside from jokes, I read Mereghetti's review, and I really understood. That man has a brain this big. Very fascinating explanation, I have to watch it again. Sorry psychobonco, but there is no explanation for the monolith; everyone can interpret it in their own way. The spaceship is traveling to Jupiter precisely to discover its meaning... but halfway there, the computer rebels, then...

Sorry bjorky, but did you understand it? In my opinion, they didn't understand it even on Wikipedia.

Since the last commentary, I reviewed it, and now I understand everything. Boundless are also the ambitions of the film: to explain the indissoluble link that connects man to time and space, artificial intelligence, and the use of science. In this regard, the connection between the two opening scenes of the film is particularly effective, using an object, a bone, as a tool of offense and dominance by a hominid and the spaceships orbiting the Earth. In this way, the director makes a logical leap of millennia while preserving the narrative thread of the film, with a remarkable operation that finds few parallels in the history of cinema.

psychobonco writes that it's his absolute favorite movie. But he didn't understand the meaning of the monolith, which seems fundamental to me. Nothing personal, psychobonco, but what do we make of that?

I only understood the first half hour of the movie, when the apes discover that a bone could become a weapon. After that, it was darkness and boredom. The review didn't help me much, but I found the story of the cinema called Aniene interesting. Everyone says it's great, so I must be wrong, and I didn't get a damn thing of the messages it contains. I prefer Totò; Poletti will surely agree.

47 if you write "root" punk, then the Stooges, or the New York Dolls.

@47, you don't know anything about punk? Ajai, 47, you should catch up, but if the Ramones aren't your thing, then I see it as tough, because they are among the most "listenable." Try the Clash or Rancid, they’re pretty catchy.

Thank you desade, I remembered you said something about the tie, but not the exact words.
