I agree that the album has nothing to say... but one clarification... please don't compare musical deities like Depeche Mode to Robbie Williams... I just ate and I've had a meltdown after reading this comparison... pop is just one of the genres that have characterized 25 years of Depeche Mode's career (listen to Exciter from 2001)... otherwise, great review... but one question... if at 14 you don’t have a guide like an older brother or sister to introduce you to good music, how can you do it alone? (reply to longliverock)... simple... through experience... first you watch MTV... then you see that they only serve you crap, and slowly you start listening to different music... little by little... the years go by and besides growing physically, you also grow musically... experience teaches... no one is born "knowing"... bye.

Dear azzo...don't make unhappy reasoning..it's my first review..I wanted to choose an album that I particularly liked..that's why I gave it 5 stars..but Pitchfork doesn't pay me to write reviews..I evaluate the album with my own parameters (you know the review is mine)..and as I wrote..a fundamental parameter for me, to give 5 stars is the fact that an album must not have even one dip or a negative episode..taste helps..it's not an unquestionable truth of mine..far from it..follow me also in the next reviews..you'll notice that 5 stars are a rarity..bye.

I haven't listened to the album, so I won't vote for it. However, the review is nice… very well-structured. One piece of advice for you, Vortex: you definitely have a certain age, let's say that… but according to your reasoning, punkprincess shouldn’t talk about music because she chose that nickname? Shouldn’t she talk about James Blunt? Surely at a cocktail, you would explain many fascinating things about music to her, to me, and to a lot of other people… but you shouldn't put yourself on a pedestal for this and say to others "blessed youth"… because I think you’re stuck in your fabulous 70s… or you’ve progressed… otherwise, you wouldn’t have ended up reading about James Blunt, but you don’t want to admit it… the image of the cool master might lose a bit of its shine. It's shameful that for every album reviewed, we have to bring up the entire music culture of the '70s and beyond... from Raf we’ve moved back to U2, to Hendrix, to Led Zeppelin... you think in isolated compartments... a review of Raf was intended, and it's right to do it... at most, a comparison can be made with Italian pop music, but not with prog rock and so on... everyone feels more "accepted" when they listen to what they believe is a milestone in music... but then how did you end up reading about Raf... not just once, but in multiple comments even... take off the mask of bullies... you don't like the album, perfect, say it... and maybe if you have a bit of intelligence, explain why... that's how we can discuss... saying "RAF MI FA CAGARE" without a reason only shows one thing... your culture stinks, and I'm not talking about the musical one. I adore The Killers, but their second album is more mature and better constructed compared to Hot Fuss, which doesn't disappoint, but it lacks something... Track number 1 is a masterpiece though... a shout-out to those who constantly criticize others' comments without adding anything... did you share your opinion? Stop, just stop, nobody cares about your further comments, dear digger.
