Katatonia Tonight's Decision

@dear taxirider it's not a matter of doing doom, let's just say that the album has influences from DOOM, which in this album are more subtle, such as the depth of the lyrics, the refinement of dark and nocturnal melodies, in short, a more literary doom than purely stylistic. The latter serves as a backdrop to weave the decay of each single track. A glaring example of all this is "for my demons" the strazian riffs, slow as boulders that gradually get under your skin and pull you into that heartbreaking labyrinth, that catatonic world ready to brush against every single cell of yours, the clanging of chains that prevent you from escaping the dreamlike hallucination wrapped inside you... THIS IS DOOM WITHOUT TOO MANY FRILLS...

There was already a review of "Tonight's Decision" and it is definitely more objective than this one, which says absolutely nothing about this work. The album is not a masterpiece, but in my opinion, it's a transitional album, albeit with nocturnal and decadent atmospheres. At this point, I allow myself to borrow a comment from Sotanaht about this record: ""Tonight's Decision" is certainly an excellent, personal, and nocturnal album, just a little less inspired compared to "Discouraged Ones" and the subsequent "Last Fair Deal Gone Down." It represents, in my view, a "transitional" album (albeit remarkable) between the minimalist forms and the claustrophobic atmospheres of "Discouraged..." and the more modern and poetically mature visions of "Last..." (two masterpieces rated 10!)." I completely agree with his analysis!!! I hope he forgives me for the theft :P

Tom, in addition to being a great artist, is an incredible stage animal, and this live performance shows it. "Innocent when you dream" is a show that makes me go crazy......you are always up to the task.
